We’re excited to announce the passage of House Bill 46 (HB 46), a groundbreaking expansion of the Texas Compassionate Use Program (TCUP) that marks a significant moment for medical marijuana patients across the state. At Goodblend Medical Marijuana, we believe every Texan deserves safe and compassionate access to the medicine they need, and this legislation brings us closer to realizing that goal.
With sweeping changes set to take effect September 1, 2025, we’re entering a new chapter of growth and opportunity. While some specifics are still being finalized by state agencies, we’re actively preparing to embrace this expansion, and we’ll continue to keep our patients informed every step of the way.
Expanded Patient Access and Prescription Flexibility
Update (Sept. 2025): Glaucoma was removed from the final list of qualifying conditions.
Wider Range of Product Formats
Update (Sept. 2025): DPS confirmed production of high dose products like our 20 mg and 30 mg gummies may continue to be produced until Aug. 31, 2025, with sales allowed through Dec. 31, 2025.
We look forward to exploring these expanded product formats and introducing options that reflect the needs and preferences of Texans. Our goal remains the same: provide trusted, effective products that are easy to access and tailored to patient care.
Welcoming Growth and Healthy Competition
Update (Sept. 2025): Application process runs Aug. 8 – Sept. 15, 2025. DPS will announce nine licensees on Dec. 1, 2025, and three more on Apr. 1, 2026 (or sooner). A waiting list will also be created.
More Pickup Locations and Improved Delivery Access
Update (Sept. 2025): Existing pickup sites will not automatically convert to satellite status; they must apply and meet safety standards. Initial conversations concerning regulations have commenced, applications will be submitted early Sept., with approvals expected in fall.
Update (Sept. 2025): Goodblend met with DSHS on Aug. 28, 2025. Public comment expected Sept. with hopes for adoption to come as early as the Fall or Winter months.
We’re preparing to meet the moment and expand our offerings, service areas, and product lineup to match the incredible opportunity this legislation creates. Here’s what you can expect in the coming months:
Yes. With the ability to securely store products at approved satellite sites, we anticipate expanding our delivery reach and improving service times. The exact rules around overnight storage are still being clarified by the state, but we’re optimistic these changes will help us serve more areas across Texas. Stay tuned for updates as we roll out new service areas.
We anticipate introducing these options once the Department of State Health Services finalizes the required rules. Current guidance points to Fall 2025 as the soonest these may be approved.
Yes! We’re working hard to bring forward new, effective, and popular products, including topical and inhalable options, that meet Texans' needs and expectations.
We’re exploring new satellite locations across the state to bring convenient access to more communities. HB 46 gives us the tools to make this a reality.
Texas law remains unclear on this point. We’ll continue to follow state guidance and explore all permissible product options as the rules are finalized.
